The warmer months of summer will pass but does that mean that your patio is out of commission until they return?  If you invest in a patio heater your patio can still be an area of your home that you can enjoy along with your family and friends.  Whether for home owners, those who own a hotel, resort, or restaurant a patio heater can really be a beneficial investment.

Some commercial patio heaters circulate heat in a circular motion whereas others focus the heat in a specific direction.  All come with various options and can either be portable, offering a level of convenience, or they can be mounted to a wall using brackets.  Some patio heaters can also be used on the table-top, mounted to a ceiling, or mounted to the floor in a permanent position.  The one you choose should be suitable to your specific requirements.  Once you have identified these you will be able to make the right choice about which patio heater you should invest in.

Should you choose a portable, table-top, concealed, or mounted Patio Heater?

Portable Patio Heaters

These portable patio heaters are very convenient if you will need to move the heater around from place to place.  They circulate heat in a 20 foot diameter.  There is a compartment that is provided for housing the fuel tank.

Table-Top Patio Heaters

Generally speaking these types of table top patio heaters are compact, portable, and relatively cheap.  When you require heat to be provided in a small space these are definitely convenient and practical.  The base of the table-top patio heater doubles as the compartment for the fuel tank.

Mounted Patio Heaters

When you do not have much space to work with these types of wall mount patio heaters are definitely worth considering.  They can be mounted onto a wall or even onto the ceiling.  Naturally these types of heaters are not fuel operated and will therefore require a permanent power source whether electric or gas.

Concealed Patio Heaters

Like the mounted varieties these heaters are permanent and circulate heat in a larger area than other types.  They will also require a permanent power source but are very convenient and practical especially if you intend using the patio very often, or if your patio is for a restaurant, resort, hotel, etc.

The majority of electric patio heaters are made from steel but you will need to make sure that the quality of steel is the best you can afford on your budget.  The better the quality of steel the more you can expect to pay but you will want one that is going to weather well.  Lower priced patio heaters are invariably made using lower quality components and these are not going to last very long.  Ultimately you will be throwing good money after bad if you choose one of the lower quality models available.

There is much more to consider when purchasing propane patio heaters than space permits investigating but make sure that you do the right research so that you are able to make an informed decision.  After all, you want to be able to enjoy your patio for years to come and not only when the warmer months roll round.
